As we enter a transformative phase of growth, we are seeking a talented and driven Embedded Systems / Firmware / Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at a Senior level. This role is ideal for a driven individual ready to step up into leadership or a seasoned professional seeking to leverage their expertise. Either should be eager to spearhead technological innovation within a growing company, firmly established in the public electricity distribution industry. The successful candidate will enjoy the dynamic environment and opportunities of a startup, combined with the stability of an established company, without the limitations of big company politics.

If you have a passion for sustainability, a positive and supportive attitude, and solid experience in software development and maintenance, this could be your opportunity to take the driver’s seat.

You will be welcomed into an inclusive, collaborative environment where your first mission will be to help recruit and shape the team that will propel our revolutionary, patented carbon-saving, net-zero-enabling technology to scaled production.

This is an exciting chance to be part of an experienced company offering the innovative spirit and benefits of a startup.

About Us

LCE is at the forefront of revolutionising electricity distribution. We have grown into a well-respected company known for our pioneering approach to low-carbon technologies. Our mission is to provide low-cost universal access to sustainable energy solutions across Europe without the need for disruptive underground cable installations outside homes and businesses. Our patented technology balances three-phase electrical distribution networks, maximising existing infrastructure capacity for electric vehicles, solar generation, and heat pumps. Designed for no-fuss, rapid installation, our products embody our commitment to innovation and efficiency, enabling the transition to a sustainable energy future.

Our technology has the added benefits of reducing everyone’s electricity costs and lowering the grid’s carbon footprint.

LCE is recognised internationally for its innovative solutions, earning accolades at Europe’s most important electricity distribution network conference.

At LCE, we do it all—from designing and testing electronic circuits and switchgear in our workshop, to developing firmware for those circuits, creating robust server software, and collecting and interpreting complex data.  Our flagship product restores the network to a balanced state, unlocking the fundamental benefit of three-phase electricity.  Our other products leverage data science to deliver actionable insights into the condition and state of the electricity grid.

Job Overview

As a Senior Engineer at LCE, you will play a pivotal role in our research and development efforts, working at the forefront of electricity distribution technology in Europe. Your first mission is to partner with the CEO in building and shaping an exceptional team. You will then take a lead in guiding our software, electrical, and electronic engineers within the LCE workshop and office, ensuring that our products are meticulously tested and refined. This role demands a proactive leader who drives technological advancements, not a bystander!

Reporting directly to the CEO and leading other developers, you will have responsibility to shape the future of our technology. Your contributions will directly support meeting Net Zero targets across Europe, as our patented technology uniquely measures carbon emission reductions it achieves.
